These Terms of Service govern your use of Tanuki Beats on iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV, together with Tanuki Cloud and related online features. By downloading, accessing, or using the app, you agree to these terms.
Tanuki Beats is provided for personal music-library playback and management. You must use the app lawfully and in accordance with the rules of Apple and any storage or online service you connect. If you use the app on behalf of another person or organization, you represent that you have authority to accept these terms for them.
You are responsible for the music, artwork, lyrics, playlists, account information, and other content you add, access, edit, or delete through the app. You must have the rights and permissions needed to store, play, copy, modify, or share that content.
Your audio files remain on your device or in the storage account or server you connect. Tanuki Cloud does not host or receive your audio files. Optional Cloud Sync uses Apple's CloudKit services for library metadata, source configuration, playlists, preferences, playback state, and other synchronization data described in the Privacy Policy.
The app can access local files, iCloud Drive, OneDrive, and SMB, FTP, NFS, or WebDAV servers that you choose to connect. Availability and behavior depend on the provider, server, network, permissions, and file format.
Some sources allow renaming or deleting an item after you confirm the action. These operations affect the connected source and may not be reversible. You are responsible for maintaining appropriate backups and checking the selected item before confirming a change.
Some online features require Sign in with Apple and a Tanuki Cloud account. You are responsible for maintaining access to your Apple Account and connected services. You may not attempt to bypass authentication, playback allowances, rate limits, entitlement checks, or service safeguards.
Cloud Sync and Playback Handoff depend on Apple, network, and Tanuki Cloud availability. Synchronization or handoff can be delayed or unavailable, and conflicting changes may be resolved according to the app's synchronization rules.
Library sources, Cloud Sync, Playback Handoff, CarPlay, metadata matching, and other app features are available without Membership. Free playback is subject to the allowance displayed in the app. Tanuki Beats Membership provides unlimited playback while the applicable entitlement remains valid.
Ordinary Free and Pro users retain playback continuity when access verification is temporarily unavailable; the app retries verification, and normal online allowance and entitlement decisions still apply. Stricter verification applies after a recorded free-playback denial followed by a newer installation on the same device: reconnect to confirm eligibility, and if the service confirms this reinstall restriction, monthly, annual, or lifetime Pro is required to resume. An outage does not bypass a confirmed reinstall restriction. Once Pro is verified, this restriction is cleared and normal playback continuity returns. After a subscription ends, standard free-playback eligibility returns, subject to the ordinary allowance and any separate administrative pause. Ordinary app updates, first registration, new devices, inactivity, and account deletion do not themselves trigger this rule. Contact support if the installation observation is incorrect.
We may change future feature availability, allowance levels, or Membership benefits when reasonably necessary to operate or improve the service. A change will not alter a completed lifetime purchase or an active subscription entitlement contrary to Apple's rules or applicable law.
Purchases are offered and processed by Apple through the App Store. Monthly and annual plans are auto-renewable subscriptions. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when purchase is confirmed, and the subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Apple may charge the renewal within 24 hours before that period ends.
You can view, change, or cancel a subscription in your Apple Account subscription settings. Deleting the app or a Tanuki Cloud account does not cancel a subscription. A lifetime plan is a one-time, non-consumable purchase and does not renew. Pricing, taxes, refunds, billing, trials, and regional availability are governed by the App Store and applicable law.
Metadata, artwork, artist information, and online lyrics use Tanuki Atlas, which currently integrates Apple Music on the server. Cloud storage and other optional functions may use Apple or Microsoft services. These services may change, limit access, return inaccurate information, or become unavailable. Your use of each provider is also subject to its own terms and policies.
Tanuki Beats, its original design, software, branding, and service components are owned by the developer or licensed from their respective owners. These terms do not transfer ownership to you. Open-source components remain governed by their applicable licenses, which are listed on the Acknowledgements page.
We may update the app or online services to add features, improve reliability, maintain security, comply with platform requirements, or discontinue unsupported behavior. Some updates may be required for continued access to online services. We do not promise that every feature, provider, format, or source will remain available indefinitely.
You may stop using the app at any time. We may limit or suspend access to Tanuki Cloud when reasonably necessary to address abuse, security risks, unlawful activity, material violations of these terms, or threats to other users or the service. Where appropriate, we will seek to use a proportionate response.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the app and online services are provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, successful synchronization, accurate metadata or lyrics, continuous third-party availability, or compatibility with every file or server. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded.
Your license to use Tanuki Beats is governed by Apple's Standard End User License Agreement (EULA). These terms supplement that agreement for Tanuki Beats's services and features. If these terms conflict with Apple's Standard EULA, the Standard EULA controls.
We may update these terms when the app, its services, or applicable requirements change. Updated terms will be posted on this page with a new last-updated date. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms to the extent permitted by law.
