How do I enable metadata or lyrics fetching?

Open Settings → Enhancement. Metadata and lyrics fetching are optional and off by default; Tanuki VIP is not required.

Imported songs don't appear

After copying files via USB or Files, return to TanukiBeats so it can scan. For cloud and network folders, open Settings → Music Sources and confirm the account or folder is connected. Scanning may take a moment for large libraries.

Wi‑Fi Transfer won't connect

Connect both devices to the same Wi‑Fi network. Start the server in Settings → Music Sources → Wi‑Fi Transfer and keep TanukiBeats running on your iPhone. On your computer, open the address shown in the app. Disable VPN or firewall rules that block local network access.

Cloud service missing from the folder picker

Install and sign in to the cloud app, then enable the service under Browse → … → Edit in the Files app. TanukiBeats reads cloud folders through Files—if a service isn't listed there, it won't appear in Import Music either.

Cloud sign-in failed

Open Settings → Music Sources, sign out of the affected cloud account, then connect it again with +. For Dropbox, a development warning during beta is normal—tap Continue to proceed.

Network folder won't connect

Double-check the server address, username, and password. For SMB shares, use the share path shown by your NAS or router and stay on the same local network. WebDAV may require HTTPS and an app-specific password from your provider.

A song won't play or skips

TanukiBeats supports common audio formats including MP3, FLAC, AAC, and ALAC. DRM-protected or corrupted files may not play—try converting or re-importing the file.
